One use case I keep running into: I get a PDF, I need to change a few things, and then I want some analysis of it.

Markdown is the best format for that. I can open it in any editor, fix what I need, and then feed the same text to whatever AI I am using. There are plenty of other times I want the text of a document and not the PDF. The PDF is just how it showed up.

I also want that done offline. I looked around, and there is not much that does this. Most of what I found was more complicated than the job, with a lot of features I do not need. I wanted something clean that does one thing.

So I built it for that. It runs in the browser, the file stays on the machine, and after you open the page once you can keep using it with the network off.

It is hosted at pdf2md.sanjaysingh.net. Give it a try.
